Hello guys.
I am fairly new to this forum; i have installed a Windows NT machine on a Win 7 laptop. The laptop does not have any COM port.
I need to emulate a COM port in order to "talk" with an external controller unit; my doubt is this:
Knowing that Win NT does not support USB, will it be worthless to but a USB to COM adapter and map it through virtual box ?
Do you have any other suggestion for this matter?

It should be possible to add a serial port to the host (e.g. using a USB-RS232 adapter), and then connect the serial port to the VM in the normal way (VM serial port settings). One problem to be aware of is that the host port number may change every time you plug the adapter into different host USB port.
