Converting running Proxmox VM to Virtualbox.

Post by itmanager67 »

I'm running a Windows VM on proxmox (Windows 2008 R2 server x64).

I had convert this VM to .vdi VM (qemu-img convert -f qcow2 <qcow2_VM_filename> -O vdi <VDI_file_VM_filename>).

The VDI file is OK.

I create a new VM, select the VDI disk, but the windows doesn't start.

The proxmox VM is setup with this information :

ide0 = 140/vm-140-disk-1.qcow2
ide1 = 140/vm-140-disk-2.qcow2
ide2 = cdrom

I select a IDE device on VirtualBox
- IDE + PIIX4 + I/O Host cache (seletced)

, but the machine start with : Windows is loading files ... and reboot.

I try to repair the boot partition (100mb) ... but nothing running :(

Can you help me ...

Not unless you provide some more details. Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance. And if you are using some non-mainstream configuration (client OS, conversions, etc.) please be more specific. Help us so we can help you.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
