No bootable media found from XP iso

I have an official XP pro service pack 3 iso from Microsoft and I am trying to configure it with virtualbox on my 8.1 desktop and my 7 laptop. Both give the same error of "FATAL: No bootable media found. System halted." when I try to use the image. I'm following a guide on Tom's Hardware, but I apparently am not allowed to post the link. All my settings should be good to go, unless I'm missing something. I had VirtualBox set up with this configuration before I did a clean install recently so it should work. Ideas?

Is not the official Windows XP pro operating system. It's just the service pack and as such in not bootable, and is not an operating system.

Thanks. I was assuming since the operating system file was significantly smaller that it had been integrated. Apparently when they said it was bootable it was intended to say that it could be made bootable (obviously). So I had to create a disc and then let the VM get at it.

That still will not work. What you have is not the XP operating system with XP3 integrated. It is only the SP3 upgrade for the operating system. It is an executable Windows program which runs under XP to make the necessary changes to update Windows XP to service pack 3 status.
It will run directly in XP one you get XP installed in your vm using XP install media.
There is an XP install iso with service pack 3 integrated, but that is not what you have.
