Generally the perfomance/stability along with Ubuntu

How does the technically mature of the current version of VirtualBox look
for the setup host-Marverick and Ubuntu of the current version as guest generally
regarding reliability, stability and performance?

a) Just several minors and major issues like in case of other os vendor combs? "os" means operating system.
b) or, significantly worse than other os vendor combinations?
c) or, significantly better than other os vendor combinations?

The combination as mentioned above is planned to be used as backup solution / plan B
upon migrating from windows domain to the MacOS one. Just in case if the MacOS platform
(operating system and the all on-board software, third-source software) will not provide the satisfying grade of producibility/effectiveness
of work the users will try to compensate it by a fall-back to open-source solutions operating on virtual Ubuntu which runs on MacOS -
open source software they are familiarized very well with.

Migrating users are newbies as for the Apple platform.
