Generally the perfomance/stability with Windows XP

How does the technically mature of the current version of VirtualBox look
for the setup host-Marverick and Windows XP SP3 as guest generally
regarding reliability, stability and performance?
a) Just several minors and major issues like in case of other os vendor combs?
b) or, significantly worse than other os vendor combinations?
c) or, significantly better than other os vendor combinations?
The combination as mentioned above is planned to be used upon migrating
from windows domain to the MacOS one. There are / were few software
prior the migration which possibly will be needed in the transition period - old tax declarations, others.
Migrating users are newbies as for the Apple platform.

Windows XP is most probably the most commonly used guest. Generally speaking it is one of the most stable guest OSes.
Your questions (
1,
2,
3) are too general in nature and can only be answered as such.
From what I understand, you will be doing this "migration" on several machines. Can't you try it on one of them and see how it goes?

I guess the quality of host-VB interaction is significant in same extent.
How will be the answer regarding this section of named system?
Yes, a generic question has been asked intentionally.
All this, because we are still in the decision phase.
The overall overlook for chance of success will decide if the migration to MacOS
will be conducted. Me thinks, pre-clarifying at top-level is the must-be-done step.
Anyhow you are right, several specific and/or concrete questions of high importance point will need
to be clarified in prior as well. However, there is a risk that not all important questions are recognized
in the planning phase. The more the high-level discussion is helpful.

My personal view here is that Virtualbox is on-par with other virtualizators, just has slightly different secondary features. Virtualbox is as mature as the rest.
Maybe you should do a Proof of Concept on your side and see if it works and do what you want. This would answer your questions much faster and you will directly catch the important questions.

And more importantly IMHO, he will get the appropriate/specific answers.

This will be time consuming and job intensive work. We shame to spend it.
I doubt it will provide answers much faster, because some of specifics can be found out after months of use.

You won't find better answers here I am afraid, especially since you don't ask specific questions but only some very general questions without giving any kind of indications on what actually matters.

This would be
way more time spent on *OUR* side and
way more intensive work. We
hate to spend it, if you don't want to try it out for yourself and help us out, trust me, I will definitely not (unless you pay me 150€/hour).
