[Solved] Kali Install Error VERR NOT SUPPORTED

Host: Mac OSX 10.9.1 mavericks., Vbox vers.4.3.6.

Hello, I am needing some help to install my Kali Linux 1.0.5-amd64.iso onto my macbook pro. I have been trying to read many forums to look up my issue even reading the VB guide with no help. Believe me I try to exhaust all my resources first before asking. I can get as far as creating my VDI (virtual disk image) in the VB manager. However, when i try to choose a drive in the storage settings of the VB: Settings/Storage/Storage Tree, the Controller:IDE shows EMPTY. So...under attributes i click on the disk to choose the Kali-linux-1.05-amd64.iso but then it gives the following error:

Failed to open the optical disk file /users/andys macbook/downloads/kali linux 1.0.5 amd64.iso

Could not get the storage format of the medium /users/andys macbook/downloads/kali linux 1.0.5 amd64.iso (VERR NOT SUPPORTED)

There is a dropdown box labeled details which gives the following Result Code: VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most probably you have a corrupt download. Verify that the SHA sums matches the one posted in the Kali Linux site. BTW, 1.0.6 is out since last week. Downloading as we speak...

EDIT: Found the SHA...

That's what I am thinking as well. I removed the 1.0.5 and am now downloading the 1.0.6 also. They must have just updated this afternoon because i downloaded the 1.0.5 just this morning. I will give it a try once it finishes, its very slow to download. Will let you know what I find out when I try again. Please check back later.

Update- got it installed and working. I had to download the 1.0.6 version. Seems the other was corrupt. Thank you for your help Socratis.
