Seamless mode - Win7 guest - "Ghosts" around Window

Hey all
Pardon me if I violate a protocol - am a newbie with a problem. Using Windows 7 in a VM on a MAC Host. In Seamless mode each application windows has a "ghost" (part of a guest desktop) to the right and below the application window. I've tried changing video memory for the VM and that doesn't affect the situation. In the attachment the green background is my MAC OSX desktop and the blue is the "ghost" of the Win7 desktop. The ghost lays on top of other application windows and messes me up.
OSX version 10.8.4, Virtual box 4.3.6 R91406. The issue has been plaguing me for the last few versions of Virtual box. I've updated the client extension.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Jeff

Can you please do me a favor? Answer the following:
1) When you installed the guest additions did you install the WDDM drivers or the Direct3D drivers?
2) If you disable "3D acceleration" in the VM settings, do you still get the ghost image?

Can you also post your "Model Identifier" as it can be seen on System Profiler (i.e. MacBookPro 8,3 or MacPro 1,1)?

My bet: 1) WDDM, 2) No.

Socratis:

Thanks so much for considering my problem.

1) I've tried all the options with the video options for the client extension.
2) After receiving your message I unchecked 3d acceleration - no change
3) I've posed the hardware overview screenshot.

One more piece of info I didn't mention before (but should have): Not ALL applications have this ghost. For instance Office MAC apps work just fine. It is the app shown in my original screenshot (FXCM Trading station) that has the issue.

Hope this helps - and thanks again for looking at it.

Jeff

I downloaded and tried the same application as well. It definitely has some drawing issues. I'm not sure why. But it seems that it is an application-specific bug.

OK, I lost the bet. Not the first time...

Well thanks for taking the time. Do you think it would be worthwhile trying VMware or parallels? Or would this problem likely manifest in them as well?

Thanks again
Jeff

I haven't tried either Parallels or VMWare, so I can't comment on that.
