Virtual box 4.3.6 causing OS X 10.8.5 to reboot

Hi There,
Can anyone help me with this issue? I have recently been given an iMac for work and i need to run a windows 7 VM. The network guys installed virtual box with the windows 7 appliance and told me it was fine.
Virtual box is causing the iMac to reboot or freeze (4 times in 15 minutes). I have updated the virtual box to the latest version but it makes no difference. The log file from the iMac shows that VirtualBox is the culprit: "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: VirtualBoxVM" and I have no issues with the iMac when virtual box is not running.
I was advised to do an apple diagnostics (funny nothing wrong there) and that's about as much support as my IT department managed:(
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Moved to VirtualBox on a Mac Host.
Post the guests log file ( as an attachment )

That is the service log, not the guest log.

I have attached the guest.log file.
And just for extra info - the iMac is OS X 10.8.5 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
The virtual box has 8GB memory allocated to it.
Cheers

I too am having a problem with a windows 8 causing my macbook pro 10.9.1 to reboot every time I run it. It started when I enabled 3d acceleration, 2d video acceleration, and pae/nx. I have since disabled this, but the issue persists. Please help I use this for some classes at school and I need this fixed soon.
I couldn't figure out how to attach a file so here's the guest log

@horseygal: The only thing that pops out is that your VM recipe says it is configured for "WindowsNT_64", instead of "Windows7_64" like my own Win7-64 log says. I assume this means that "Other Windows" was selected as the OS type. I would try picking the correct guest version.
Otherwise I see nothing wrong.
