USB Networkadapter into Virtualbox - please help

Post by immo »

OK After my first try with Garmin (which was not the best devise for me) I returned this and replaced it by a TOMTOM PNA.
This one (1015 Live) comes with an USB port which works like an Ethernet adapter.....
I see a usb device with the name "Linux 2.6.28.10 with dwc_otg_pcd TomTom [0327]"
and added this as an usb device via filter.... (and additional all his brothers too by creating a filter with just product and vendor id)
but the device isnt shown as neither network nor other unknown device...

What can I provide as helping infomation ?
Host (windows 7 x64 -VB 4.3.6)
VBox (windows 7 x64)

Even my USB WLAN stick isnt shown as somewhat device inside the vbox ...

but the cross in the list of connected usb devices to this VM is existing and device is removed from the host (not listed anymore at : computer manager - devicemanger - network adapters )

any ideas ?

If you create a filter for it then there's no need to look for it on the devices menu.

See here for instructions on how I connected a similar (-ish) device.

I did exactly this in the way you described it.

I just monitored if the device is really detected and it isnt...

Probably its somehow connected to the real hardware. Therefore I did the VBoxManage.exe list usbhost to give someone an idea ...
Probably I have to fall back to the latest 4.2.x

My host is an Lenovo W500 Notebook.

At USB Devices I can see at the device manager:

Code: Select all
