CPU Error

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with a i5-2520M CPU and I keep getting the following error when trying to start my VM:
"This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot – please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
Do you know what setting need to be changed? I tried several in the Settings menu with no luck. I also get the same error when I try running it off the local machine."
I also get the same result with a Windows 8.1 64-bit with a i5-3320M CPU.
Running VirtualBox 4.3.6
Any ideas how to fix this?
