Hi,
I am trying to install a Windows 7 64-bit image on an i5 iMac running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. I installed the latest Virtual Box and told it to create a image using Windows 7 as the OS. After putting in the CD and Windows begins the install, it comes up with a screen stating: " Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode"
I have confirmed that Enable I/O APIC is selected. I have also confirmed that the iMac has 64-bit kernel and extensions capable.
Any ideas why I am getting this error? I have used this same version of OS on an older MacBook Pro with no problems.
Thanks!
Erik

Re: Win 7 64-bit install problems
Did you choose "Windows 7 (64-bit)" in the General settings under the Basic tab?
