Host:-Windows 7 64 bit
vbox:-version:4.1.6 r74313
Guest:-Ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
Host folder name that I want to share on guest:-Softwares

Installed guest additions on Ubuntu..folder "soft" created...reboot...run command "sudo mount -t vboxsf Softwares /home/trivender/soft" .

error:-/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: No such device

Please help. I spent several hours to fix this:(

Does "/home/trivender/soft" actually exist?
Was the share created in VirtualBox?

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment )
And the results of the following:
From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.

Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.
