Communication between 2 VMs

Post by nb91 »

Hi,

I have a problem to communicate two VMs (1 Windows 8 and 1 Windows Server 2008).

I have a dedicated server on OVH. Actually, I use the NAT adapter for my two VMs to permit access Internet. But I read that two VMs on NAT adapter can't communicate both.

I can't select Bridged adapter because I haven't DHCP on this server.

So, I think how I can do. Have you an idead please ? If I enable a second network card for example ?

Thank you for your help

Read about Network Address Translation Service in section 6.4 of the 4.3.6 user manual. The entirety of chapter 6 is probably worth your reading time.

Thank you for your help mpack, it's work fine.

I just add NAT Network by using the following command

Code: Select all

VBoxManage natnetwork add -t vmnet -n "192.168.1.0/24" -e
And I choosen NAT Network on the Adapter Network of VirtualBox Configuration and the name of my NAT Network (I called ma NAT Network "vmnet").

I succeed to make a ping between my 2 VMs and share folders.

Thank you a lot again.
