Problem with RDP access

Post by nb91 »

Hi,

I installed Virtualbox 4.3.6 on Ubuntu, on a dedicated server (OVH). I installed a VM on Windows Server 2008.

Now, I need to have a remote access of my Windows Server 2008. I set Remote access on VirtualBox Configuration on the port 3389 and I choose External on Authentification Method.

When I try to connect on my guest Windows Server 2008 with Windows RDP, it seems it found my Windows Server but finally I have an error :
A licensing error occurred while the client was attempting to connect. (Licensing timed out)
I searched on Google but no success.

NB : I already installed this VM on an other dedicated server an it worked fine.

NB2 : My VM is configured on NAT Adapter.

Thank you for your help.

The problem is solved.

I changer the Authentification Method and I chose "Nothing" instead of "External". Now, I can connect on my VM.

Thank you for your help.

RDP to a Virtual Box VM client hosted on a Windows machine. Changing authentification Method to "Nothing" instead of "External" leaves no security. I needed it to stay on external. Swapping to Nothing would work but I wanted authentication. Found it worked on External from a client on another computer. Went back to the client that after a long delay in attempting connection returns the error "a licensing error occurred while the client was attempting to connect". The Windows Vista RDP client had the options (with always ask for credentials unchecked) to edit or delete credentials. I kept using the edit option. Once I chose the delete option it instantly worked. Credentials I used were: computer: hostaddress:portused user- hostname\hostuser password - hostpassword.
