Shared folders not mounted in Ubuntu guest from Win 7 Host

Hello people,
I'm running an Ubuntu guest on VirtualBox (version 4.2.20) on a Windows 7 host. I'm not able to mount shared folders on my guest. I tried automount as well as manually mounting.
I'm on kernel version 3.2.0-57-generic-pae.

No error is reported by the mount command, but the command exits with error code 2.

I've also attached the result of an strace on the mount command.
The Guest shows the shared folders when I list them, but mount fails.
