Windows 8 and 8.1 both halt as guest

Post by phineas13 »

Hello, I'm running a Windows XP-SP3 host and I'm trying to start a VM with Windows 8 or 8.1 DVD (ISO-file) but both fail to start. I get an error code 0x0000005D witn parameters 0x03061706 0x756E6547 0x49656E69 and 0x6C65746E and a window message telling to come to this forum and send two log files, so I'm doing so.

Host has Intel Core2 Duo CPU @ 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM and enough disk space (over 80 GB). Guest is assigned one CPU, 1 GB RAM, 25 GB HD and 128 MB video RAM.

Thank you very much.

Well, I searched it and the second result has (most probably) your answer.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
