Re: Internet Connection Problem
Can you ping yahoo.com or 98.138.253.109 and do either or both of them work?

Re: Internet Connection Problem
I would check to make sure that your browser is not set to off line then because you are able to see the Internet and resolve friendly names (DNS)
Re: Internet Connection Problem
that would fix the browser (it didn't) but it doesn't account for the other apps that cant access online. im trying to get nook study to access but it errors out just like firefox and internetexplorer.

Re: Internet Connection Problem
I don't know what else to tell you. You do have Internet connection as you can see for yourself. Only thing to check would be firewall rules or virus software.
Re: Internet Connection Problem
firewall is disabled and the guest has no anti-virus installed. thanks for the effort Perryg, i appreciate it. i installed a new guest and still no connection from firefox. i can ping yahoo with no loss but i cant seem to get internetexplorer to reach any pages.

Re: Internet Connection Problem
Check the hosts firewall, and think of what changed between the time it worked and now.
Re: Internet Connection Problem
wow! your EPIC! thanks so much for trying this hard! anyway, i tried disabling my firewall on Friday and nothing. i uninstalled a few apps that i no longer used but im not sure that any reflated to virtualbox in anyway, at least i hope not.

Re: Internet Connection Problem
Removal of Apps. shouldn't have caused an issue. You say you installed a new guest and it can not access the Internet as well?
That is indeed strange. Post the following information.
From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.
Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.
