VIRTUALBOX GUEST ADDITIONS DO NOT LOAD IN DEBIAN 7.

Ive been trying to get VboxGuestAdditions to install in a debian 7 virtual machine on a win7 Host, but every time i do it says it cant mount/eject the virtual drive and if i want to force mount, and if i click yes it goes away and nothing happens. Ive tried every suggestion on every thread about how to do this, including installing packages and updates and trying to mount the cdrom from the command line, but when i get to it it says there is no such location as /media/cdrom, and all the guides just go on from there as if that problem doesnt exist. Ive downloaded the latest VBoxGuestAdditions_4.3.4 iso and tried to mount that in a virtual drive and it does the same thing, it just wont mount or unmount the drive (it starts up premounted but it wont do anything from there).
This is one thing ive tried from virtualboxes org/doc/installing-guest-additions-on-debian/
Login as root;
Update your APT database with apt-get update;
Install the latest security updates with apt-get upgrade;
Install required packages with apt-get install build-essential module-assistant;
Configure your system for building kernel modules by running m-a prepare;
Click on Install Guest Additions… from the Devices menu, then run mount /media/cdrom.
Run sh /media/cdrom/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run, and follow the instructions on screen.
It just says no such file or directory even though the iso is mounted. even after forcing the iso to mount again it doesnt do anything. Can anyone tell me how to install guest additions? Is it possible?

If the additions are not mounted you need to mount them. If you have put the guest addition ISO in the virtual CD in the guest settings, just go ahead and boot the guest and then use a terminal to mount the cd.
then you can install by running the VBoxLinuxAdditions-*.run

The additions are mounted when i boot up but nothing happens. ive tried mounting the cd as per the instructions in my post and it says theres no such location as /media/cdrom. why does it says theres no such location if the guest additions is mounted, and why is it saying that i cant mount or eject it except by force and then it does nothing when i do?

If i try to mount or unmount anything it always give me this error:
"Unable to insert virtual machine disk " " into workstation"
Would you like to try to force insertion of the disk?
Could not mount media/drive Vboxguestadditions.iso (VERR/PDM/MEDIA/LOCKED)
If i go into terminal and type 'mount /media/cdrom' it says 'no such file or directory', even after forcing the mounting of the guest additions. Is there something else i can do?

thanks but it still gives same error, no such file or directory. maybe the iso isnt being mounted even if i force it to? or maybe its ina different location for some reason, i dont know
edit: i tried a forced mount dismount cycle a couple of times and left it on forced mount and then tried it and it says now:
mount point media/cdrom does not exist

Is there some way i could install it in the guest itself like if i downloaded it to the desktop and ran it or something?

mount point media/cdrom does not exist
It should say /media/cdrom. Was this a typo?

yes, i wrote it how you wrote it. i think cdrom directory doesnt exist so i found this solution:
[root@vmserver ~]# cd /
[root@vmserver /]# mkdir cdrom
[root@vmserver /]# mount /dev/cdrom /cdrom
[root@vmserver /]# cd /cdrom
[root@vmserver cdrom]# ls
and then it will list linuxguestadditions which i run with:
sudo sh linuxguestadditions.run
and it installs and tells me to reboot host and guest, so i restart my computer and start debian vm and when i go to use shared folders it says "guest additions doesnt appear to be installed". if i run through the process again in the command line it says that guest additions is already installed and it reinstalls it. im lost now.

You probably need to enable backports in the repo.
