um ok, i searched for 'enable backports in repo debian' and got a thread that says to put this in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sources.list:Perryg wrote:You probably need to enable backports in the repo.
deb backports debian org/debian-backports wheezy-backports main
deb-src backports debian org/debian-backports wheezy-backports main
(wont let me put links yet)
but there wasnt a sources.list so i tried to create one and the folder is write protected. i went into terminal and wrote
sudo chown root /apt/etc/sources.list.d
it asked me for my password i entered it and then it didnt say anything but went ahead as if it worked, but it still wont let me change anything inside the folder. If i cant get root using chown then what else can i do?
