repeated crash in gui on Win8.1 host

I have a repeated crash happening in 4.3.4 whenever I hit some spots in the vboxmanager gui. The most repeatable instance I have it trying to import a new appliance, then clicking the button to open the file-find dialog boxes. The only data/output I have from the condition is the info pasted below, from the windows-crash popup: I dont' find any logs updated with errors or info as it seems to be outside the VM running itself. My gut says it may just be some simple, stupid window-UI thing though I'd think if more hit it the screaming would be louder.

I've tried reinstalling as admin and running in compatibility mode for a few versions; no luck. Normal VM operation doesn't appear to be affected though I don't know for sure 'cause I hit the same condition for various sub-dialogs in the config window (and if I'm in a VM it drops to an 'aborted' state).

I've been watching the window hosts section and the comments on 4.3.4 for anyone else reporting a similar thing; saw one or two comments but they appeared to go nowhere. This has been rather maddening as I've been seeing this kinda thing on any version past 4.2.16. If someone could offer some guidance on what else I may do to collect info to try and solve this, I'd really appreciate it.

Many of these errors, trying to use a disk that is already attached. And you say the crash happends when trying to acces some other files.

Are you sure the files are not protected, or the disk where they are stored is not damaged or going bad?
