VirtualBox/Win7 give winsock error on WinCE device

Post by ivo »

Hello,

I've been using Virtual Box running Windows XP for syncing a WinCE device using ActiveSync, this worked fine.
The device is a Zingui communication aid.

However, in Windows 7 with the Windows Mobile Device Centre, I can't make a proper connection.
When I attach the device via USB, the Windows machine detects this and installs the drivers.
The connecion in Windows Mobile Device Centre fails and after a while the device responds with a Winsock error:
"Cannot start communicatinos with the desktop computer. Winsock Services could no start due to a critical error."

It seems that this is an issue of virtual box with win7 as guest OS as:
- virtualbox with WinXP/active sync works properly
- the device connects properly on native win7 machine.

Anyone familiar with this winsock error?

'm running virtual box 4.3.4 with guest additions installed:
Host machine: Macbook 5,1, OSX 10.9
Processornaam: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processorsnelheid: 2 GHz
OS: OS X 10.9 (13A603)
L2-cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB

Guest machine: Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, 512MB memory
