Yesterday, I installed Virtualbox (version 4.3.4) to run MS-DOS 7.1 and Windows 3.1 together on one machine. The installation went fine with no errors, but an error I had with the mouse made the 3.1 part nearly unusable. I have little control over the mouse, and just a slight movement can send the cursor across the virtual screen, making it hard to get it focuses on one button. I ran the normal installation, and came across no hiccups, which made me believe that it is an error within Virtualbox; though I am not ruling out the possibility that it is an user error, which it most likely is. I am using my normal laptop trackpad which works fine everywhere except in Virtualbox, and I have also tried an USB mouse, which provides the same result. I also tried downgrading to various versions as low as version 4.0.2, but the error still occurs.
I have little knowledge and am new to the whole thing, but I am willing to learn to become better at it. Any help is gladly appreciated.

Re: Windows 3.1 Mouse Errors
Windows 3.1 is not a supported guest and you will have issues. Given enough time and experience though some of them can be worked around.

OK, thank you for the reply! As I said, I am new to this so I am happy to get a response and learn some more. I will try to the best of my abilities, and maybe try something different! (Sorry if this in the wrong section to post, I'll need to do more research next time!)

No problem. That's how you learn.

I'm curious... how slow is your host system?Linkboy13 wrote:The installation went fine with no errors, but an error I had with the mouse made the 3.1 part nearly unusable. You could try turning off hardware virtualization for the VM. It is likely to cure the funny mouse.
