VT-x Error

So I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit today and when I went to install it I was getting an error. So I read up and I had a Ubuntu 64bit already installed for other purposes that worked fine, but I read I had to enable it in my BIOS, so I checked and it was enabled, I hit disable and then enable and saved the settings. Now when I start it up I get VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.

Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.

Same with my old 64bit Ubuntu that used to work and I can't figure out why this happened. My problem was I forgot to check 64bit Ubuntu and so it thought it was 32bit that was my problem but now I have this whole new problem with the error above with this machine and my old used to be working 64bit. Any tips on how to fix it or what caused it?

Seems that updating virtualbox, disabling vt-x in the bios and rebooting, then enabling vt-x and doing a repair on the virtualbox installation with one more reboot after fixed the problem.
