VMDK file not accepted as disk

Hi,

I created a VMDK using a lib i created and tried attaching the vmdk to VirtualBox. It epports error as below,
Failed to open the hard disk G:\target.vmdk.

The medium 'G:\target.vmdk' can't be used as the requested device type.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
