Windows 7 on Windows 7 iPhone issues

Hi all,

I have a Windows 7 enterprise 64 Bit host upon which I am running VirtualBox 4.3.4r91027. I'm having trouble getting the guest OS to see the iPhone.

The host PC is a corporate domain member, whereas the guest is not.

I have set the USB Device Filter selecting the iPhone.

I have iTunes installed on the guest but not the host and could not get the guest to see the Phone - it always said the driver had failed to install correctly. On the guest, only the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed, whereas on the host it appears alongside the Apple iPhone icon.

When the phone is connected and the guest OS is shut down, iTunes starts. This makes me think there is something going on in terms of the VM grabbing the USB port.

Any ideas how I may be able to resolve this?

Thanks

This makes me think that you have iTunes installed on both the host and the guest, both "fighting" to get control of the iPhone. Here's something that you could try:

- Uninstall all Apple software from the host.
- Launch VM with guest/iTunes *AND* the filter properly set.
- After logging in, install iTunes and all related drivers.
- Reboot VM as needed.
- After VM is up and running, plug the iPhone. The guest should capture it and proceed as normal...
