RAT Tool Virtualbox Ports

Hey there,

iam running FreeBSD9.1RELEASE-amd64 as Hostsystem and Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit as Guest System in VirtualBox OSE.

Since iam studying some KM away from my girlfriend and she often has trouble configuring her PC we decided to install a remote administration tool so that i can handle her problems from distance without her having to wait until iam in town the next time.

Iam running the RAT tool in VirtualBox since there is no Unix version of this available. The problem ist, that i cant get the ports working properly.
I opened them in my Router and on other PCs they seem to work (i checked them at canyouseeme. org) but not in my VM.

I have Network configured as NAT since with Bridged Network my VM wont start and have the ports forwarded from 1515 to 1515. Is this how it should work or am i missing something?

okay, i managed to get bridge-network working but still... if i try canyouseeme . org it says:

Error: I could not see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xx on port (1515)
Reason: Connection timed out


while on other computers this works.
Or cant i simply access these ports with my vm?

Have you tried to access the port from within the network first? Have you open the port in firewall(s) and/or antivirus software?
