With an imac from last year would that be ok with auto desk 2013 and or 2014? auto cad? Should I use windows 7 64 or windows 8 64 if it does work.
Or should I just stick with boot camp?

Autocad has high requirements on the graphics. I wouldn't be surprised if there are issues/problems within a virtualized environment. But, a test would convince you
