Where to put the Shared Folders in OS Maverick?

Hello, I had a hard drive crash and my new operating system is now Maverick. This has caused an issue as I don't know where the shared folders are supposed to go in the Mac. Currently I have them in the Applications folder (there is not a User folder that I can find in Maverick) but they do not show up in VB (which is using Windows 7). How do I link this up?

You should really take heed of the minimum info required when posting as in:

But that being said, Mavericks is really no different than any other MacOS OS before it with regard to where the users folder is. It does have a /users folder and your home folder will be off from this. To select the shared Folder, bring up VBox and before you start the Virtual Machine, bring up settings and select Shared Folder. Click on the "+" sign on the right side pane and that should bring up a dialog box which will allow you to select the folder you want to use as a shared folder. Typically, it would be /users/<Your user folder>/<vbox_shared>. If the folder does not exist, there are controls to create it within the dialog box, or you can create it externally as well.

@JimBushWhack
Just a minor correction. It is "/Users", with a capital "U". This may come to play in the command line for example.
@BKZayo
In the Finder, choose "Go | Go to Folder... ⇧⌘G" and enter "/Users", or alternatively choose in the Preferences to show the Devices and then choose your hard drive.
