Are .VDI files secure enough?

Hi there, fist of all sory for my bad english, I'm from Brazil.
ABOUT MY SYSTEM AND VM VERSION: I'm using, a LAMB SERVER(web server) on a Linux Mint, on latest version of VMVB.
The sittuation, and my problem: I needed to protect a .PHP code from my clients, because I run a offline .PHP (in a LAMB web server) script and didn't liked the option of obfuscation my code, so in a .PHP forum a genius suggested me to use VM Virtual Box, this was a brilliant idea, and i found this a really good idea, I've done all my tests and this is really perfect for what I need. So I was wondering now if this file generated from VMVB, is this file safe enough, secure enough? I've searched the forum and the web, and fond just a couple of tutorials explaining how to extract/emullate .vdi files., but nothing about secruty of this files, I've followed this tutorials and was abe to extract a folder called Linux, but some confusing files showed up, and my .VDI file appears to be secure. But i'm not sure, if it is safe at all.
As like as I've sad, once I'm using linux mint, I've installed the linux with the HD encryption enanbled with a 30 chars pass, and also created a user with a password differente from the HD encryption, and also changed the default root pass. Made all tests it's working all fine, changed LAMB default pass'. But my doubt still remains if someone take my .VDI file will it be safe and secure with all my data? I hope i've been clear, any questions just ask me. Since now greatful for your attenion!
