Tunneling eth port to Virtual Machine

Post by palemmo »

Hello, sorry for my english!

I have two connections in my office and instead of using two different pc for each connection i would like to use a VB Machine, seeing that i have wifi and eth in my pc...

I would like to do something like sharing an usb device...

It's possibile? Map eth connection directly to virtual machine?

Thank you

If you look at the networking chapter of the manual you will see that "Bridging" is exactly what you are looking for.

Wile the main pc have to surf with a 10.1.1.X via wifi

I set

But when i plug the eth cable i loss connection in the main pc...or better...the main pc use the same 192.168.0.X instead of wifi...

Where is the wrong?

Thank you again

Sounds like some software that automatically turn on or off your Wifi, depending on the link status of your eth.
If you don't have your VM running, and you connect your host to the wifi, then plug your cable, what happens?

WiFi connects to 10.1.1.1 Eth connected to 192.168.1.1
Eth connection overwrite wifi and the phisical pc navigate with 192.168.1.1

You tell 192.168.1.1, but in your previous post you talk about 19.168.0.x, was that a typo or you do get a wrong IP?
