Hi,

I have a Debian 32-bit VB VM running on Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit host with virtualbox 4.2.x

Since the first release of VB 4.3.x, I have been trying to upgrade to 4.3.x (on every official release), however, when loading the VM, VB 4.3.x popped up this error message: If I downgrade to 4.2.x (4.2.18 or 4.2.20) the VM is working with no problems.

I tried to read the log file but could not figure out what's wrong.

I have 2 VBox log files attached, one is VB 4.3.4 failed log, the other one is VB 4.2.20 OK log.

Can somebody take a look of the attached log files and give some comments? Thanks.

It's trying to force 64-bit, probably dues to io/apic being enabled.

Try setting long mode off and see if it helps. Note: guest must be shut down and not saved state.

I tried --longmode off, the VM still fails, log file attached.

(PS: I also have another 64-bit ubuntu server VM showing similar problem with 4.3.4 (working with 4.2.20), but I want to fix this 32-bit debian VM first).

The actual error is shown above. They have changed the way that the bit use works and these messages have been coming in on a regular basis. We have been informed to send these to bugtracker.

OK I see, there are several bug reports on VINF_EM_TRIPLE_FAULT, so now I just downgrade to 4.2.20.
