How much?

I would have thought this a simple question, but after a half dozen searches I can't answer it. I just installed VB with Windows 7 Enterprise on a 90 day trial. What happens when the trial runs out? Do I get to purchase a license for the Windows version I have already installed or do I have to buy a different version and install it?

I would ask Microsoft that question.

Microsoft is a rather large company--can you be more specify?

My point is we do not have any control over Microsoft licensing or pricing.

Yeah, no problem. I'm just trying to figure out the information, and I can think of no question in the known universe where "Ask Microsoft" is a helpful answer. Also, I got the Windows 7 Enterprise trial version by simply downloading and installing VB so washing your hands of the whole thing is a little unfair.

You didn't get Windows 7 from VirtualBox. Post the exact location where you got this from.

I can think of one. Yours. "Where do I buy a Microsoft product?"

And Virtual Box is a standalone application that comes with no bundled operating system. That's why we can't help you in these forums with that question. I don't know where you got the Win7 Enterprise, but it wasn't from the official Virtual Box site.

Finally, although not the right place to answer, Win7 Enterprise needs a Key Management Service (KMS) to activate. Start with this article from Microsoft's technet. I'm 99% sure that you don't really need the Enterprise edition.
