Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Hey all,
I'm fairly new to using VB and know very little about its nuances. Right now all I'm trying to do is get the Oracle Developer Days OS started up but keep on running into issues with it. Right now I have hit a wall and keep getting an error message upon trying to run the system
Attached is a screenshot of the message I get. Can you guys please help, I am completely at a loss here.

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Is the guest 32-bit or 64-bit? What version of VirtualBox and did you select the proper bit when creating the guest?

Here is the log file. I believe, from what I read, that I am trying to run a 64 bit system. The vb version is 4.3.4

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Log shows
and it should say
If this is the 64-bit. Change the setting in the guest to 64
Code: Select all
Guest OS type: 'Oracle'Code: Select all
Guest OS type: 'Oracle_64'Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Just switched to the 64-bit setting and it is still giving me the warning message about the memory. Is there any other knobs i can turn to try to solve this.
Attached is the updated log file.

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
It would help if you would give me a better response than "still giving me the warning message about the memory". Exactly what does the message say?
I see you are running really close on RAM so it may be all yo need to do is free up host memory and/or reduce the amount you are assigning to the guest.

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Just tried to reduce the ram but to no avail.
The message it gives me upon boot is:
"Memory for crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) notwithin permissible range
WARNING calibrate_APIC_clock: the APIC timer calibration may be wrong."
Reducing the memory to 512mb or below prevents the second line of the message from being displayed.

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Was this an import (OVA) from Oracle?
What happens if you wait a bit when you see the screen?

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
Yes this was an OVA import from Oracle. The one I downloaded was the "Oracle Developer Day.ova".
I just let the client run for like 5-10 mins and nothing happened.

Re: Unable to get started with Oracle Developer Days
