I used to have a working edition of the VM Virtual box software. As I have a dual boot with XP and Windows 7 this was rarely used. Now with the prospect of using Windows 7 as the main O.S. I am re-visiting the field of virtual computers. I have un-installed and re-installed Oracle VM Virtual Box but am still getting the error message (listed below) when I try to start the program. Any suggestions?
Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object.
The application will now terminate.

Re: INSTALLING VIRTUAL BOX
The Virtualbox.xml file that contains the general Virtualbox configuration seems to be broken.
Go into "D:\Users\ACER DESKTOP/.VirtualBox", rename Virtualbox.xml by Virtualbox.xml.bk and try to start Virtualbox.
This will give you an empty configuration which you can use, but you will need to add the VMs that were there before.
