Cannot create internal DHCP server

Post by Silvr777 »

I am trying to create an internal network on a Windows 8 host. When I try to create a DHCP server I get this error:

VBoxManage.exe: error: Failed to create the VirtualBox object!
VBoxManage.exe: error: Code CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE (0x80080005) - Server execu
tion failed (extended info not available)
VBoxManage.exe: error: Most likely, the VirtualBox COM server is not running or
failed to start.

I do not see any process or service called anything like VirtualBox COM server. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is an issue with your Virtualbox installation.

Best way to fix it :
Uninstall Virtualbox.
Reboot
Install the latest Virtualbox with Administrator priviledges but NOT AS Administrator
Reboot
Try again in a regular prompt (not elevated one)
Hyperbox - Virtual Infrastructure Manager - https://apps.kamax.lu/hyperbox/
Manage your VirtualBox infrastructure the free way!
