Hello,
I have installed RHEL 5 VM on Windows 7. It was working fine till yesterday. Today I am unable to enter my login and key board is not working on VM. It is working fine windows 7. I am kind of newbie here. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Oracle VM version : 4.2.0
I have installed guest additions also.

Sekhar

Have you checked that the "Disable Mouse Integration" is not enabled by accident? It's under the "Machine" menu, or the second-from-the-right icon on your VM window.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I tried that, still I am not able to enter my username in the RHEL login page. Tool tip it is giving when I placed the mouse cursor on login field - "Answer questions here and press enter when done. for Menu press F10"
I have one more guest OS Ubuntu which is working fine.
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Sekhar

If one guest is working and another is not, I suspect it is the client configuration or the client itself. Can you post the results of the
VBoxManage showvminfo "<uuid | name>"
command so we can see the differences between the two clients?

Make sure you have not enabled a USB filter which is grabbing ownership of the keyboard from the host. That must not be allowed to happen, as you can't easily operate host software (which includes VirtualBox) without a keyboard.

OK, I should have mentioned to .zip them to save the text spam.
Now on the real problem. The only difference that I found (that could be relevant) is that in RHEL the pointing device is set as "PS/2 Mouse" whereas in Ubuntu is set as "USB Tablet". Can you make sure these two are the same? Maybe the pointing device is misbehaving?
