trying quite hard to ping each other.
basically i give eatch vm a static ip
I use host only adapters.

is there anything i need to configure to make them talk to each other?

Depends on what IP addresses you gave out and what is defined for the host-only network. Plus firewalls and what the guests are.
Need a lot more information to proceed.
