Serious Failure after installing Guest Additions

Running VirtualBox 4.3.0 r89960 under Mandriva 2011.0 x86_64:
Installed PCLinuxOS as guest, got it running OK then downloaded
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.3.0 and ran the Linux....run installation. On restart, got an "emergenct stop" message, with invitation to submit VBox.log and VBox.png, which I do. When running the kernel update, I did get a message about the additions being from a different source, but I assumed VBox 4.3.0 was compatible with 4.3.0 Guest additions to I went ahead.
Your comments towards a fix would be welcome.

How were you able to "installed PCLinuxOS as guest"
before you downloaded and installed VirtualBox?
Please give precise error messages - and provide a VM log file. For details read
Minimum information needed for assistance.
I suspect that you installed a repo fork of VirtualBox (which we don't support), then installed the non-repo GAs into it.

1. VirtualBox was already installed and running 2 other guests before installing PCLinuxOS.
2. I did select VBox.log for uploading attachment, but it seems this function can only deal with one attachment at a time, and it was replaced by VBox.png.
3. I restarted PCLinuxOS to get the error message, but found the start-up successful. The installation of Guest Additions was successsful, because I could "Auto resize guest display". I attach the VBox.log that was created when the error occurred.
4. For the record, I downloaded VirtualBox from your site when I got news of the upgrade:
# urpmi VirtualBox-4.3-4.3.0_89960_mdv2011.0-1.x86_64.rpm
and the reference to 89960 matches the reference to the Guest Additions I installed.

You can add multiple attachments, but you have to remember to "Add file" for each attachment.
I still need the VM log file.

VM Log file: Sorry - I was sure I attached it to my previous. Try again:
File renamed from VBox.log.2, because the upload feature didn't allow the name:
"The extension 2 is not allowed."
That seems to have done it.

VBox.Log.2 is an old log from september. Strangely enough I would prefer a log that covers the period of interest, e.g. the latest one "VBox.log" just as the linked instructions tell you.
