Kernel panic with: VBox4.3.2, Mavericks, SSD Samsung EVO 840

Post by MiltonPardon »

Hi, I have the following HW/SW configuration:
  • MacBookPro 13" mid-2009 (MacBookPro 5,5: see "macbookpro.gif" attachment)
  • MacOS X 10.9 Mavericks
  • SSD Samsung EVO 840, 500 Gb
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • VirtualBox 4.3.2, with WindowsXP(32bit) guest-os, with VirtualBox add-ons installed, with SP3 and all updates installed.
Before installing VBox, things were OK, no problems. After installing VBox I experienced frequent random "kernel panic", with frequent reboot of the Mac, losing my works.

Then I uninstalled VBox, and things now apparently work without kernel panics/reboots.

In attachments I uploaded 2 examples of crash logs. Someone else experienced this problem and/or know how to do for fix it? I need VBox because I run "Stylus Studio" under Windows XP for everyday work.

Thanks in advance,
Milton Pardon

Resolved. The problem was corrupted RAM modules.

Out of curiosity, how did you find out that RAM is the problem?

Also had to do a clean Mavericks re-install. First installation was done having corrupted memory.
