I am a Win XP user. Love it. However, now I am getting ready to upgrade to Windows 7. I will be using Windows XP in a Virtual Box environment, due to the fact that I still use audio software that will not run in Windows 7. My main concern is when it comes to burning my data within the Virtual Box environment. Has anyone seen any difficulties in using such software as Nero, and burning within the Virtual Box environment?
Before saying "Why not install the Nero in the host and burning from there?" I can not. Nero is installed on a dormant XP drive that I use strictly for drive cloning. Due to Nero's stupid Patent Activation, I can no longer re-install Nero and use it. The problem has yet to be resolved by Nero. My work around, is to clone the drive via Disk2VHD and use it in Virtual Machine. No, I can not afford to buy new burning software.
Burning Data DVD's in Virtual Box.

I would never suggest any such thing - I used to be a Nero fan, but abandoned it as bloatware quite some time ago. I would recommend that you download the freeware ImgBurn tool to use on your host. It's basic but user friendly, and it works very well for me.EtherStreams wrote:Before saying "Why not install the Nero in the host and burning from there?" I can not.
I would forget about trying to burn DVDs from inside a VM. Talking to physical hardware is not a VMs forte.
