Scale Mode Issues With Mouse.

I installed the latest VirtualBox today and installed Windows XP Pro SP3 32bit on it. It works fine until I go into scale mode or full screen whether the mouse is integrated or not. I can see the mouse half the time sometimes none and it looks like it is leaving trails behind as if I have mouse trail selected which I dont. Invisible drag boxes and upon opening the start menu half of it gets cut off and so on. When I try to play a game that worked fine on a previous version on this one seems to be having issues by not displaying everything properly.

Not sure what version of VirtualBox I previously used before but not sure if there is a fix for this? I did install guest additions but even without guest additions it still did not work properly. Anyone help would be appreciated as this game does not run on windows 7 without crashing and I have not played it for a few months, thanks.

Sorry guess I should add that my host res is 1600x900 while guest is 800x600. When I change my host rest to 800x600 it is fine but would like to keep my host at 1600x900 while using 800x600 scale mode to play my game without the issues of the mouse problem and screens being cut or invisible...thanks.
