Network discovery in Windows2008) on seperate hosts

Dear,
I need to setup a small network in class. I use VirtualBox, but with groups of 2 students. So the different virtual computers are also physical different computers, connected with read cables and switches,and lateron routers.
It is the first time I do it this way. I did a simular setup last year, but on 1 host, with NICs linked with an internal network in VirtualBox. Then all was OK.
First the situation
* I Use VirtualBox 4.3.0
* 2 win7 hosts, each with a Windows2008-server guest: Server1 and Server2
* Each guest has a bridged NIC with the wired NIC, with fixed IP-adres 192.168.10.11 and 192.168.10.12 (both with SNM 255.255.255.0, no gateway). The original IP-adresses of the host-computers are not in the same subnet.
* The NICs are phycically connected to a switch, and in VirtualBox, both NIC's are connected too.
* Server1 has an extra bridged NIC with the WIFI-NIC, but at this moment not connected, and not important. (Server1 will become a proxy-server)
* Both servers are in the same workgroup
* Both servers has Network discovery and file sharing on.
* I can ping to each other
* I can see the other server via command \\server1 (and 2)
BUT
I cannot see the other server via network in the start menu.
I already played with the filerwalls, but without success.
Does anybody have an idea of wath I am doing wrong.
Thanks.
