How do I make guest audio stay on the guest only?

Hi all,
Here is what I am trying to achieve:
1) Run 2 Windows XP VirtualBox guests (lets call them guest1 and guest2) on my Windows 7 host machine.
2) Run an audio streaming program on each Windows XP guest.
3) Connect to each stream individually from the internet.
I have achieved all three points, BUT the audio seems to be transferring to the host machine and whenever I connect to either guest, I get both the audios (a mix of audio from guest1 and guest2).
I am using default settings on the Windows XP guests. I have tried to change the 'Host Audio Driver' from 'Windows DirectSound' to 'Null audio driver' as I thought this could have been the culprit, but this stopped the audio streaming software to stop recognising any audio, so I had to reenable it.
I have also tried using Virtual Audio Cable (software that creates virtual sound cards), but this did not work either.
I was wondering what else I could try, or whether it is just not going to work? I was assuming that changing the setting to Null Audio Driver would have worked for my purpose, but it just seemed to stop all audio capabilities of the guest machine.
I'm using VirtualBox version 4.3.0 r89960
Thank you.
