SOLVED - Bandwidth/DNS issues Windows Host / Bridged Guests

Thought I'd get this in the forum in case someone else runs into this.
I'm running VirtualBox 4.2.18 on a Windows 8 Host machine. Normally, my host's networking functions perfectly, but the moment I start a bridged guest, I start have sporadic DNS resolution issues, my available bandwidth on the the host drops to kbps speeds on the host (guest works fine, though), and when I traceroute outbound, I see traffic hitting my host nic IP over and over again. If I run "route print", there are no rules to explain this loop.
I dealt with this for a week before finally stumbling across the answer. I had the Routing and Remote Access Service (RemoteAccess) running. The moment I stopped that service, my host nic worked perfectly again.
