How do I run a Japanese Windows XP simulation?

During a recent trip to Japan, I decided to try my luck buying a Japanese PC game. Now, I didn't expect it to work straight out of the box on my Australian PC (It didn't) and after a bit of research, I found that the game would only run if I ran it through a Japanese version of Windows XP on a Virtual Machine...

Well, it's been two hours, now, and after countless searches and general blundering, I still have no clue what I'm doing.

Can somebody please either tell me how, or point me in the direction of a tutorial for running a Japanese Windows XP OS through Virtual Box? I've looked for tutorials, but all I get are boot install exe things from torrent sites, which is not what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

You shouldn't need to do anything special, just get hold of a Japanese XP setup CD and install it - select XP as the settings template. I don't believe Kanji is an option in western XP setup CDs, so I do think you'll need a specific CD.

And just to be sure: you understand that there are no OS setup CDs bundled with VirtualBox, right? VBox provides the "hardware" for your simulated PC, you have to provide the software.
