VM (4.3.2) Crash on Ubuntu 13.04 Login

Post by JoachimBr »

Hi,
I did a complete fresh install of Ubuntu 13.04 guest on Windows 7 64 bit.
After installing the guest additions, enabling 3D acc and after reboot, the VM crashes when I try to log in.
Attachig the VM Log
VBox.log
(65.85 KiB) Downloaded 6 times
Any suggestions on how to recover?

Br Joachim

Ah, Intel HD Graphics, good luck getting that to work...

The log file does not show any crash at all. It ends with "Changing the VM state from 'DESTROYING' to 'TERMINATED'." which is expected for VM that was closed normally. Perhaps you can be more explicit?

I assume the "the VM crashes" actually means that the guest crashed. In which case (talking to the OP) the diagnostics need to come from the guest, not from VirtualBox - which is most likely working fine.

You mention 4.3.2. Did this same guest work on any previous VirtualBox version?

Oops, I attached the wrong log file. I have replaced it with the correct one now -Sorry

Also adding the VBoxSVC.log here:
VBoxSVC.log
(2.27 KiB) Downloaded 9 times
I don't know if the guest is crashing or the Virtual Machine hosting the guest. The crash report comes from Windows stating that "Oracle VM has stopped...."
The virtual box main window, the manager, works well.

Yes, I had the same issue with 4.3.0. Same crash. Disabling 3D acceleration prevents crash but is then slow
