How to remove machine that I deleted the folder

Post by SquareWave »

I accindentally removed the folder of a machine.
Now I could not remove the machine from the menu.
When I click remove it stays the same.
I know I could stay with this but is annoying.
What to do?

This is what I get:

Code: Select all

Runtime error opening 'D:\Usuários\USER\VirtualBox VMs\MAC OS X Lion\MAC OS X Lion.vbox' for reading: -103(Path not found.).
D:\tinderbox\win-4.3\src\VBox\Main\src-server\MachineImpl.cpp[727] (long __cdecl Machine::registeredInit(void)).
Código de Resultado:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Componente:

Interface:
IMachine {480cf695-2d8d-4256-9c7c-cce4184fa048}

"Me too!" I backed up one of my VMs and removed the files. Seems pretty stupid to have to restore files just to remove the name from the list.

Almost as stupid as having to provide a page and a half of personal info, just to reply to this message.

Since there were no other replies to the message, I'll assume that there is no logical way to do what the original poster asked about. :(

The way to remove the VM is to right click it and select "Remove".

I agree that this currently does not work, hence the appropriate action would be to raise a BugTracker ticket and/or mention the problem in the 4.3.2 release discussion thread.

And of course, in the meantime the workaround is to delete VMs in the proper way. You should never move or delete registered files outside of VirtualBox.

I think I will have to restore the wm and then delete it.
