Firewire and Virtualbox
I was wondering if it was possible for a VM in Virtualbox to control a firewire card? I use an external audio system that runs off the firewire card that I would like to be able to use in the VM cause it has 8 ins and 8 outs.

Re: Firewire and Virtualbox
Virtualbox doesn't emulate Firewire so it's not possible to use the card via Virtualbox using regular methods.
On the other hand, there is an experimental feature called PCI passthrough which use VT-d capabilities of newer computers on Linux, but is normally used for GFX cards.
See the Section 9.6 of user manual for more info.
