Hello All,
I have been trying to enable multiple CPUs on my linux VM on the windows host machie. I went to System->Processor-> and tried to change the Processors. But it was disabled and the note said "You need hardware virtualisation enabled in the host system.". Then i tried to enter the BIOS on my HP machine and enabled the Virtual Technology (VTx) and Virtualisation Technology for directed I/O (VTd) . But it looks like this still doesnot have any affect on the VM for enabling the mutliple CPUs. Could you please help me with this ? Any help or pointers is very much appreciated

thankyou in advance for your support and help

Cross posting is not allowed. Other topics deleted.

If you have enabled hardware virtualization and the processor count is still grayed out you probably have the machine in saved state. It must be completely shut down for those settings to be changed.
