USB Problems ScanSnap S1500M

Post by StGo »

Hi everybody,

i got problems with my Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M on a Windows 7 Guest System.

I installed the VitrualBox Guest Additions but when i try to connect the Scanner i got the following message:

Code: Select all

Failed to attach the USB device Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 [0100] to the virtual machine Win_7_RUB.

USB device 'Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500' with UUID {57c0b271-6d46-48b1-b2c4-12cde240b475} is busy with a previous request. Please try again later.

Result Code: NS_ERROR_INVALID_ARG (0x80070057)
Component: HostUSBDevice
Interface: IHostUSBDevice {173b4b44-d268-4334-a00d-b6521c9a740a}
Callee: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
- The ScanSnap tool ist closed at the OS X and i can´t finde any thread that look likes ScanSnap.
- The System ist rebooted without autostart of ScanSnap.

The ScanSnap S1500M is only for Mac but the same device S1500 without M is for Windows. If I got a Windows message that the Scanner can not be installed because it is a Mac Scanner. But the problem ist the true connection between OS X and Guest Windows.

Is there anybody who got any idea

greetings

Try doing a Google search with that error message, or just the "busy with a previous request" bit.

I have nothing to add to the advice you will have found with a search: create a matching USB filter, plug the device in after the guest has reached the desktop.

You might also want to upgrade to the latest VirtualBox version (4.3.2), as I seem to remember there was a USB problem fixed for Mac hosts.
